In the U.S., the types of infrastructure with the biggest market size in the construction industry in 2021 were electricity and power installations, as well as highways and streets. These segments made up more than half of the spending in infrastructure construction that year. Transportation infrastructure occupied the third position in the list, with 56 billion U.S. dollars' worth of constructions put in place. Power also was the type of private infrastructure construction in the U.S. with the biggest market size.
