Global number of Hermès stores 2007-2022

The luxury brand Hermès operated 300 retail stores around the world in 2022. This was a slight decrease from the number of Hermès stores in operation in the previous year.

The Hermès brand was established in the mid-19th century by Thierry Hermès. It began as a manufacturer of horse harnesses and has since become one of the most luxurious and iconic fashion houses in the world. The company is perhaps best known for producing fine silk scarves and high-end handbags. As of 2022, Hermès was the second most valuable luxury brand in the world, worth about 80 billion U.S. dollars as of that year.

Luxury accessories

Luxury leather goods, including handbags and wallets, make up the largest share of the personal luxury goods market worldwide. The world’s largest luxury goods company, LVMH, owns several of the most famous producers of luxury accessories such as Louis Vuitton, Marc Jacobs, and Fendi. Over the last decade, LVMH’s largest product category has been fashion and leather goods, which generated over 38 billion euros in sales in 2022.
