India: natural rubber consumption by end use 2022

Natural rubber consumption in India totaled 1.24 million metric tons in the financial year April 2021 to March 2022. Of this total, almost three-quarters was consumed by the auto tires and tubes sector, with the remaining quantity used for general rubber goods. The consumption of general rubber in India fell 16 percent in the 2020/2021 financial year as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, but rebounded the following year. India was the second largest consumer of natural rubber in 2021, behind China.
