Newly diagnosed female breast cancer in England 1995-2018

This statistic shows the registrations of newly diagnosed cases of female breast cancer in England from 1995 to 2018. Breast cancer occurs when cells in the breast begin to grown abnormally, these cells often form a tumor. Since 1995 the number of females registered as newly diagnosed with breast cancer has gradually increased. In 2018, nearly 47,697 females were registered as newly diagnosed with breast cancer. This was an increase in number of cases compared to 44,862 registration in 2013, the highest number recorded over the assessed time duration.
