This statistic shows the total number of all passenger movements on domestic sea routes in the United Kingdom (UK) between 2003 and 2016. Domestic sea routes in the United Kingdom include routes to Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man, the Channel Islands, the Isle of Wight, Scottish inter-island routes and river routes. The total number of passenger movements increased steadily between 2003 and 2013 when it reached over 43 million.
Subsequently however, the number of domestic sea passenger movements in the United Kingdom saw a decline. In 2015, 41.7 million domestic sea passenger movements were recorded in the United Kingdom. In 2016, it stayed roughly the same level with 41.8 million passengers.
