Osram: number of employees FY 2019-2020
Globally, the company had some 22,000 people on the payroll in 2020. In spite of a unionized workforce, the number of employees dropped by over 2,600 people between 2019 and 2020. Following a successful takeover bid by Austrian chip maker AMS in 2019, retail investors and hedge-funds tendered their shares in acceptance of the 55 percent offer. According to the offer, there will be no merger-related lay-offs between 2019 and the end of 2022.
