Carbon dioxide emissions from the energy supply sector in the UK 1990-2020
Carbon dioxide emissions produced by the United Kingdom's energy supply sector have experienced an overall decline since 1990. In that year, emissions from this sector totaled 243.7 million metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent (MtCO₂e), but by 2020 had fallen to 78.2 MtCO₂e. Emissions from energy supply have been declining annually in the UK since 2012, and by 2016 they had fallen below transport sector emissions.
