Romania: mining of hard coal industry enterprises 2020

The number of enterprises in the mining of hard coal industry in Romania dropped significantly to 2 enterprises in 2020. The number of enterprises thereby reached its lowest value in recent years. The recent development could be explained by the fact that Eurostat reports a break in time series for 2018. Notably, the number of enterprises in this industry has been, with the exception of 2012, continuously decreasing over the last years.

In accordance with EU REGULATION (EC) No 250/2009 only companies are included here which were active during at least a part of the reference period. It also includes local units (branches) which do not constitute a separate legal entity and which are dependent on foreign enterprises.
