In 2018, the United Kingdom imported approximately 46 million metric tons of crude oil and natural gas, and exported approximately 43 million metric tons of the same. As an exporter, the United Kingdom exported more crude oil to the Netherlands than any other country, exporting a combined total of 19.3 million metric tons from 2014 to 2015. Norway also appears on the list of export destinations, receiving 49,000 metric tons of crude oil from the United Kingdom in 2016.

In 2016, the United Kingdom produced approximately 44 million metric tons of crude oil, imported approximately 39 million metric tons, and exported approximately 31 million metric tons of crude oil.
