Europe: direct debits per country 2000-2020

This statistic presents the volume of direct debit transactions in Europe from 2000 to 2020, broken down by its countries. The highest volume of direct debiting was recorded in Germany, where the creditors initiated approximately 11 billion payments in 2019. This was followed by the United Kingdom and France who saw a total of almost 4.5 billion and over 4.4 billion direct debit payments made respectively in 2019.
