Retirement readiness according to European respondents 2017-2020
This statistic illustrates the retirement readiness index levels for selected European countries from 2017 to 2020. The readiness index uses a scale with scores from 1 (the lowest) to 10 (the highest level of preparation for retirement). It can be seen that the population's readiness for retirement index in Turkey and Germany was the highest among investigated European markets as of 2020, reaching a value of 6.1 index points at that time. The United Kingdom ranked third with with retirement readiness of six index points, followed by the Netherlands with 5.8 index points. Of the European countries under observation, Spain had the lowest retirement readiness index, with a value of 5.2, in the latest year under observation.
