Leading gaming consoles in Europe 2018-2022, by unit sales

In 2022, the Nintendo Switch was the most popular gaming console sold in Europe, at almost four million units as of mid December. This was followed by the PlayStation 5, with just over three million units. Sales are forecast to remain high for both consoles into 2023, with a number of popular games due to release across the year, including The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom on the Switch and Final Fantasy XVI on the PS5.
