Fashion industry: year-on-year sales growth in Spain 2008-2018 In 2018, the sales volume of the fashion industry in Spain registered negative results compared to the year before at -2.2 percent year-on-year growth. The industry, in this statistic consisting of refers of the clothing industry, home textiles and accessories, has made a great recovery since 2008, a year that registered a record negative growth of -11.02 percent. Growth peaked in 2015, when the fashion sales recorded 5.1 percent growth compared to the previous year. Inditex was by far the largest fashion company by revenue in Spain in 2017.
Inditex: the Spanish fashion giant

  The Spanish clothing multinational, the owner of brands like Zara and Pull & Bear, generated more than 25.3 billion euros. This represents a notably higher turnover than other leading fashion retailers of the Mediterranean country, such as Mango or Tendam (Cortefiel). In fact, the fashion enterprise was positioned second on the leading apparel and accessories retailers in the world based on its sales, only outranked by the American TJX.

Inditex, H&M and Primark: leaders in fashion retailing in Spain

  Inditex held over 65 percent of the national clothing market in 2015. The Dublin-based clothing company Primark ranked second, with a market share of 14.2 percent. The leading clothing retailers Inditex, H&M and Primark increased significantly their market share in the Mediterranean country in recent years, holding 37.2 percent over the total fashion sales in Spain in 2017.
