
The decrease in the number of umbrellas sold in the UK between 2015 and 2016 may be representative of differing amounts of rainfall experienced over the course of the two years. In 2015 the Met Office recorded an average annual rainfall of 1,723.3 millimeters of rainfall, compared with 1,388.6 millimeters in 2016. 2015 also saw a total of 168 rainy days, while 2016 had 157 days.
