In 2021, around 23.9 percent of White, non-Hispanic teens between the ages of 16 and 19 years old were both enrolled in school and working in the United States. On the other hand, 13.9 percent of Black, non-Hispanic teens were both enrolled in school and working.

The percentages represent an average based on responses to the survey questions for the months that youth are usually in school (January through May and September through December).
