Netherlands: Senate election results 2019

This statistic shows the seats won in the national elections for the Senate in the Netherlands on the 27th of May 2019. Prime Minister Mark Rutte's liberal VVD (People's Party for Freedom and Democracy) remained the largest party in the senate. However, the Forum voor Democratie, a Eurosceptic party led by Thierry Baudet, also won 12 seats in the 2019 elections. The opposition Christian-democratic party CDA (Christian Democratic Appeal) became the third party in the Senate, with nine seats.

The Eerste Kamer (Senate or the First Chamber) is the upper house of the bicameral parliament in the Netherlands. The 75 seats are filled through election by the members of States-Provincial - once every four years, within three months of the provincial elections.
