Asylum applications of unaccompanied minors in Finland 2009-2019

In 2019, nearly 100 unaccompanied minors applied for asylum in Finland. In the given period, the number of asylum applications peaked in 2015 with a record high of 3,014 applications. After 2016, the number of applications declined to a lower level than before 2015.

Those who are given international protection are granted a residence permit. Statistics on extended permits based on international protection can be found under ‘Residence permit’. No applications that have been corrected as subsequent applications in the statistics during the process can be seen in the statistics on applications."
