Opinion on the Jus Culturae in Italy December 2019

In a survey of November 2019, 66 percent of respondents in Italy declared to be in favor of the Jus Culturae. On the contrary, 22 percent were against it.
The Ius Culturae was object of discussion in the Italian politics since its draft proposal. The legislation would grant the Italian citizenship to children, born from foreign parents, who attended the school in Italy.
Another discussed matter related to the Italian citizenship was the Ius Soli law. A survey of 2019 reveals that the majority of Italian respondents did not agree that children born in Italy from foreign parents should receive the Italian citizenship.
