Number of housing completions in Northern Ireland by tenure 2010-2021

In Northern Ireland, there were nearly nine times more houses completed by private enterprises than for social housing purposes in 2020/21. That year, there were 5,793 private sector home completions, and 653 home completions by the public sector. The year with the largest proportion of public sector housing completions was 2012/13, and even then it only accounted for over 26% of total completions.
