The number of embarking and disembarking cruise passengers at Mediterranean ports rose significantly in 2022 over the previous year, after shrinking with the onset of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Overall, the port of Barcelona recorded the highest figure in 2022, with roughly 1.3 million passengers. While this number shows a sharp increase compared to 2021, it remained below pre-pandemic levels.
