* Provisional data.

The source adds the following information: "In passenger transport, 'rail passenger' means any person, excluding members of the train crew, who makes a trip by rail. The 'number of passengers' means the number of trips by rail passengers, where each trip is defined as a movement from the place of embarkation to the place of disembarkation, with or without transfers from one rail vehicle to another. Finally, 'passenger-km' means the unit of measure representing the transport of one passenger by rail over a distance of one kilometre. Only the distance on the national territory of the reporting country should be taken into account."

Data coverage corresponds to code rail_pa_typepkm of the railway transport measurement statistics.
