This statistic represents the results of a survey in 2017 across eight cities in India about the frequency among drivers of receiving calls while driving, based on city. During the survey period, about 88 percent of respondents in Jaipur said they never received calls while driving. This share dropped to 30 percent of respondents in the southern city of Bengaluru, where the most share of drivers, about eight percent always received calls while driving.

According to the source, within each city, four categories of drivers were surveyed: two-wheeler drivers, four-wheeler drivers, truck/bus drivers and auto-rickshaw drivers. Cities surveyed: Delhi, Chennai, Jaipur, Bengaluru, Mangaluru, Kanpur, Mumbai and Kolkata.
