This statistic shows the attitudes of the Italian families towards buying a house in 2017. According to the study, less than 9 percent of Italian families intend to become property owners. While the majority of respondents (40 percent) do not need to buy a house, almost one in three Italian families needs to buy one but cannot afford it, either because they lack the economic resources (21 percent) or because they don't have access to mortgages (10 percent).
