Norway: share of votes Sami parliamentary election

In Norway, the party Norske Samers Riksforbimd received the highest share of votes, followed by Nordkalottfolket. The two parties received 31.9 and 18.3 percent of the votes, respecticely. Ávjovári Daloniid Listu and Samenes Folkeforbund both only received 1.4 percent of the votes. The share of votes correspons with the share of seats allocated to the parties.

Norwegian Sami Parliament (Sametinget) elections are held every four years. There are 39 seats in the Norwegian Sami Parliament, distributed in accordance with a method known as proportional representation. The system guarantees that political parties gain seats in the Norwegian Sami Parliament in proportion to the number of votes cast for them throughout the country.
