This statistic shows the percentage of U.S. teenagers that used select contraception methods during their most recent sexual intercourse from 2011 to 2015, by gender. According to the data, 21.7 percent of females used dual methods for their most recent intercourse. Comparatively, about 35 percent of males used dual methods at their most recent intercourse as well.

All other methods, excluding condom and hormonal methods. Thus, if other method was combined with condom or hormonal method, it is not counted. Other methods include withdrawal, sterilization, IUD, female condom, diaphragm, cervical cap, spermicidal foam, jelly or cream, suppository, sponge, calendar rhythm method, and “other” methods.
