Leading Spanish clothing retailers 2018

Group Inditex’s flagship brand, Zara, topped the list of leading Spanish retailers based on sales value in 2018, with approximately 1.9 billion euros. Punto Fa, whose trading name is MANGO, ranked second, with a total sales value that amounted to approximately 1.6 billion euros the same year. The revenues that the Inditex group generated during the 2018 fiscal year amounted to roughly 29.4 billion euros. Other important retailer brands from Inditex include Bershka, Stradivarius or Pull & Bear.

Spain: one of world’s fashion leaders

The Spanish fashion industry is present worldwide as most of its fashion retailers operate internationally. Inditex was the fashion group that featured the highest number of shops, with approximately 7.5 thousand across the globe. Mango held the second position, with nearly 2.2 thousand clothing stores. In terms of number of employees, Inditex again ranked first with 172 thousand professionals.

Out of the approximately 7.5 thousand Inditex stores globally, over two thousand were Zara shops, ranking it as the most common establishment of the Spanish clothing company. It will then come as no surprise that over 65 percent of the total sales of Inditex were generated through the Zara brand in 2017. In Spain, the number of Zara stores was only overtaken by Mango, also one of the most important Spanish fashion retailers worldwide.
