Japan: insurance policy sales channels 2021

According to a survey conducted in 2021, insurance company sales personnel was the leading sales channel for life insurance purchases, used by 55.9 percent of the respondents in Japan, who had purchased life insurance between 2016 and 2021. Insurance agencies increased their share as sales channel from 6.4 percent in 2009 to about 15.3 percent during the surveyed period.
