In 2021, the number of deaths from acute myocardial infarction in Spain amounted to around 13.4 thousand cases, the lowest value recorded since 2005. Deaths from acute myocardial infarction, also known as heart attack, were more prevalent among men than women throughout the analyzed period. As of the last year, approximately 5.2 thousand women and about 8.2 thousand men reportedly died from this heart condition in the European country.
