Primary energy consumption breakdown in France 2019-2020, by source
In 2020, 40 percent of the primary energy consumption of France came from nuclear sources. In both 2019 and 2020, fossil fuels accounted for approximately 45 percent of the primary energy consumption of this country. On the contrary, energy coming from renewable sources was only 13 percent, although this figured marked an increase of around 1.5 percentage point compared to the previous year.
