beef consumption dropped to 4.85 kilos per person. Since the start of the period in 2010, beef consumption has decreased from 6.75 kilos to less than five kilos in 2017. This, however, is a trend that has also been followed by other types of meat such as chicken, due, among other reasons, to the irruption of diets that exclude the consumption of foods of animal origin, as is the case with the vegan diet.
