Sales volume of red wines sold in Alko stores 2016-2021
The sales volume of red wines sold in Alko stores in Finland declined constantly from 2016 to 2019. In 2020, 25.1 million liters of red wine was sold by the national alcohol retail monopoly. This increase was mainly brought about by the sales volume growth during COVID-19 pandemic, as the alcohol sales in bars, restaurants and private imports of alcohol declined. In 2021, the sales volume of red wines declined again to 23.2 million liters.
