Distribution of types of inputs used for biomethane injection in France 2022
In 2022, autonomous agricultural units accounted for almost 60 percent of the biomethane injections to the renewable gas grid in France. Overall, 83 percent of the biomethane input points belonged to the agricultural sector. Biomethane is a source of energy with a reduced carbon footprint. It can be used in the transportation and agricultural sector and to produce electricity and heat.
