Revenue of Selfridges Retail Ltd worldwide 2011-2018

Revenue of Selfridges Retail Limited worldwide from fiscal year 2011 to 2018* (in million GBP)

by Tugba Sabanoglu, last edited Jun 17, 2019
Revenue of Selfridges Retail Ltd worldwide 2011-2018 Selfridges is an upmarket department store with only four locations across the United Kingdom. In 2018, the retailer delivered a revenue of 771.3 million British pounds worldwide, which represented an increase of over 100 million British pounds on the previous year. As far as UK department stores are concerned, this is a considerable success. Particularly so since the big names on the UK department store landscape are not having their best days with shrinking market shares.
Selfridges: an exceptional department store

Fortunately, for the time being this is not the case for Selfridges. With increasing revenue figures and market share, Selfridges distinguishes itself from the rest of the UK’s well-established department stores. In 2018, Selfridges registered an increased net worth, which signified more than 30 percent growth since 2015.

Luxury department stores keep their mojo

In the current retail environment where shifting shopper behavior is shaping the future of retailers as such, department stores are feared to lose their relevance. A glance at the like-for-like sales figures of leading UK department stores reveals this plainly enough. While household names like John Lewis, Debenhams and Marks & Spencer are suffering in terms of their sales trends, the story for high-end department stores including Selfridges seems to be not over yet.
