
Willingness to choose between public and private in the NHS in Italy 2018, by area
A survey conducted in 2018 investigated citizens willingness to have a choice between public and private services in the framework of the National Healthcare Service in Italy in 2018. According to survey data, there were not great differences of opinion across macro regions regarding this issue. Indeed, 87 percent of citizens living in the South, as well as 87 percent of them living in the North-East, declared they would like the NHS to provide both public and private services among which they could choose. Furthermore, 85 percent of Italians from the North-West and 82 percent of individuals living in the Center made the same statement.
