Amount of external finance sought by SMEs in the last 12 months UK, 2019-2022
In a survey conducted between November 2022 and April 2023, small and medium enterprise (SME) employers in the United Kingdom (UK) were asked what amount of external finance they sought out in the last 12 months. The largest share of individuals (33 percent) sought between 25 thousand and 100 thousand British pounds in external finance for their SMEs. Only four percent of respondents stated that they sought out one million British pounds or more in the past year.
