With the oubreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, the average frequency of grocery shopping among Mexicans decreased. According to a study carried out between February and May 2020, during the first COVID-19 lockdown in Mexico, consumers reduced by nine percent the number of visits a month they would allocate to grocery shopping in comparison to the amount recorded before the beginning of the pandemic.
