The survey results indicate that the share of people who read books daily or almost daily in the Netherlands decreased between 2013 and 2017. In 2013, 37 percent of those surveyed indicated that they read paper or digital books daily or almost daily, whereas by 2017 just over 25 percent of respondents did so. After 2017, the share of daily readers increased again, reaching 30 percent in 2019.
