Profitability of radio news in the U.S. 2000-2019

Profitability of radio news stations in the United States from 2000 to 2019

by Amy Watson, last edited May 16, 2019
Profitability of radio news in the U.S. 2000-2019 This statistic shows the profitability of radio news stations in the United States from 2000 to 2018, with a forecast thereof for 2019. According to the most recently available data, in 2018 just 13 percent of surveyed radio stations reported that they were showing profit, almost half the figure reported for the year 2000. Interestingly, the data reveals that in each year the majority of surveyed directors and managers reported that they did not know whether their stations were showing profitability or not, however among those who did know, a decline in profitability is clear and the figure predicted for 2019 suggests that this trend will continue.
