As of April 2020, Milan was by far the most expensive city in Italy to rent a dwelling. In fact, people wishing to rent an apartment or a house in the city were expected to pay on average 17.7 euros per square meters. Following in the ranking, came Florence (14.5 euros per square meters), Venice, and Bolzano (13.9 euros per square meters). Rome, the Eternal City, came sixth: renting a dwelling in the Italian capital cost on average 13.6 euros per square meter.
