The average duration of electricity outages in Brazil decreased continuously in the second half of the 2010's. In 2019, consumers experienced an average power outage of less than 13 hours, a drop of nearly 31 percent in comparison to the average 18.5 hours in the first half of the decade. The average number of power outages in Brazil also decreased in the period.
