In 2018, the number of customers of electricity company CPFL Energia in Brazil amounted 9.58 million. Almost 90 percent of customers were residential. This company's number of customers has been continuously increasing since 2014. CPFL Energia is one of the largest privately-owned electricity generation and distribution companies in Brazil, and generated in 2018 a net revenue of more than 28 billion Brazilian reals.
