It recorded an outstanding revenue surge of 193.4 percent from 2021 to 2022, surpassing 1.8 billion Romanian lei. This notable achievement positioned AZOCHIM SRL as the leading company among growing medium and large retail enterprises. When looking at the most dynamic 10,000 companies in the Romanian economy, grain, seeds, fodder, and unprocessed tobacco wholesalers claimed the top spot by revenue. The 181 companies in this category registered a combined revenue of 57.5 billion Romanian lei, emphasizing the sector's substantial economic contribution.
Pharma Retail
In the pharmaceutical retail sector, the last decade has witnessed a consistent increase in the number of pharmacies. Since 2018, the country has consistently recorded over eight thousand pharmacies annually, reaching 8,135 in 2022, with 5,431 located in urban areas. Catena emerged as the leading company in pharma retail, boasting 909 pharmacies nationwide and a substantial revenue of 6.3 billion Romanian lei. This marked a significant increase by a third since 2020. Dr. Max (Sensiblu) followed closely with nearly 3.2 billion Romanian lei revenue, underscoring the competitiveness within Romania's pharmaceutical retail landscape.
