In 2022, German tourists reported the highest number of leisure, recreation, and vacation trips among travelers from the European Union, with over 125 million trips. While this figure denotes a sharp annual increase, it remained below the number of trips recorded in 2019, the year before the COVID-19 pandemic. Meanwhile, France recorded the second-highest figure in 2022, with around 98.7 million vacation trips.
