Back to school: cost per product type France 2017-2018

This statistic presents the average cost for a student starting his sixth year in school in France between 2017 and 2018 by type of product, in euros. Office supplies were the most significant source of expenses as they costed on average almost 100 euros in 2018, while sport products had a lower cost, around 48 euros.

* Since the first half of July, voluntary members "Families of France" collected in their respective cities and in each distribution channel, the price of school start articles, according to a pre-established standard list. This list is composed of 45 school references divided as follows:
- 17 paper or filing supplies (notebooks, binders, ...)
- 25 non-paper supplies (kit, school bag, calculator, ...)
- 3 sporting goods (jogging, pair of sports shoes, two pairs of socks)
