Share of Millennial expecting to rent in the future in selected U.S. metros 2019
In 2019, 18.2 of Millennial renters in San Jose, California said that they expected to rent forever, rather than buying a home. This is above the national average of 12.3 percent of Millennial renters who said they expect to always rent. In 2020, the share of Millennials that had given up on homeownership increased even further.
