Total nonfinancial corporation debt in major economies 2021

Over the last decade, the debt of nonfinancial corporations in China have grown the fastest of all major economies, increasing from 4.38 trillion U.S. dollars in 2008 to 27.47 trillion U.S. dollars in 2021. As a result, Chinese corporate debt now exceeds U.S. corporate debt, which stood at 18.57 trillion U.S. dollars in 2021.
