Import volume of gluten-free cereals to the European Union 2016-2018

Between 2016 and 2018, the import of gluten-free cereals to the European Union decreased. The import of millet, the most popular gluten-free cereal in this period, halved in this period, from over 70,000 tons in 2016 to just 35,000 tons. Buckwheat gained popularity between 2016 and 2018, becoming the second most important gluten-free cereal after millet. In 2018, the EU imported roughly 30,000 tons of buckwheat.
