Bolivia: lithium carbonate sales volume 2017-2019

In 2019, lithium carbonate sales of Bolivian state-owned company Yacimientos de Litio Bolivianos (YBL) amounted to 0.12 metric tons, a plunge from the 110 tons reported in the previous year. In contrast, that year, YBL's lithium carbonate production surpassed 400 metric tons, a year-over-year increase of more than 70 percent.

YBL is responsible for developing the entire production chain of salt flats' resources in Boliva, such as lithium and potassium salts. The company was founded in 2017, under the Ministry of Economy, replacing the former responsible organ, Gerencia Nacional de Recursos Evaporíticos (GNRE).
