Lithium carbonate production of Orocobre in Argentina 2016-2021
In the first nine months of 2021, Australian company Orocobre produced approximately 9.3 thousand metric tons of lithium carbonate in Argentina, or an average of 3.1 thousand tons per quarter. At this rate, production could surpass 12 thousand tons that year, up from some 11.3 thousand tons produced a year earlier. In 2020, production was affected by temporary plant shutdowns in the first three quarters of the year, a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Orocobre's lithium carbonate production is conducted in the Olaroz Lithium Facility, located in the northern Argentinian province of Jujuy. Operations commenced in 2015.
