According to a survey conducted by Rakuten Insight, about 50 percent of respondents stated that they have not purchased a smart speaker because it was too expensive. In the same survey, about 63 percent of respondents stated that they did not own a smart speaker.

The survey was conducted among 3,570 female and 2,658 male respondents. Other surveyed countries included China, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Korea, Indonesia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Taiwan and Vietnam.
